The Heart of A Peacemaker

'Let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.'

- Romans 14:19

Peace isn't just the absence of conflict – it's an active pursuit that requires intention and courage. As followers of Christ, we're called to be more than peaceful people; we're called to be peacemakers. This means taking initiative, bridging divides, and sometimes being the first to extend an olive branch. Think about Jesus – He didn't wait for us to figure things out on our own. He actively pursued peace with us, even when it cost Him everything. When we choose to be peacemakers, we're not just solving problems; we're reflecting the very character of God to those around us. It's about having the humility to listen, the courage to speak truth in love, and the wisdom to know when to do each.

Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.

Reflection Question

In what specific situation could you take the initiative to be a peacemaker this week?

PRAYER

Lord, give me the courage to be a peacemaker in my relationships. Help me to pursue peace with the same intentionality that You pursued peace with us. Amen.
