CORE is a discipleship learning environment designed to help every person at CFC take their next step forward in experiencing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.

CORE offers a wide range of theological topics that will greatly aid you in your walk with Jesus. We believe CORE will strengthen your understanding of Scripture, help you grow deeper in your walk with Jesus, and provide practical tools for a lifelong pursuit of following Jesus and making Him known to others.

Hermeneutics: How to Faithfully Read God’s Word

“Judge not.”

“I can do all things through Christ.”

“For I know the plans I have for you…”

Many of the Bible’s most quoted verses are also some of its most misunderstood.

How do we know what a passage really means? How do we read verses in context instead of isolation? And how can we grow in confidence without becoming prideful or overly academic?

In this CORE class, we’ll learn practical, accessible tools for faithfully interpreting and applying God’s Word. Together, we’ll explore how context, genre, authorial intent, and the flow of Scripture shape meaning — and we’ll practice working through real passages that are often misquoted or misunderstood.

The goal is not merely information, but transformation: learning to read the Bible carefully, humbly, and Christ-centeredly so that we can know and follow our Savior more faithfully.

The Person + Work of The Holy Spirit

If you feel stuck, dry, or defeated in your walk with Jesus, you’re not alone—and you’re not meant to do the Christian life in your own strength. In this three‑week CORE class, we’ll explore the person and work of the Holy Spirit—in a way that is deeply biblical and intensely practical for your everyday life, struggles, and questions. Across three sessions, we’ll look at the scriptures to discover who the Spirit is, how He brings new life, how He changes and comforts, and how He empowers and uses ordinary believers to point others to Jesus. Whether you’re new to faith or have followed Jesus for years, this class is designed to help you grow in your understanding and experience of the Holy Spirit in your life.

  • Childcare will be available for both nights! Each night should only last about an hour and half.

  • Currently, we are not offering an online option for any of these courses.

  • Each course will provide all the resources that you may need. Additional resources may be recommended for further study, but are not required.
