CORE is a discipleship learning environment designed to help every person at CFC take their next step forward in experiencing a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
CORE offers a wide range of theological topics that will greatly aid you in your walk with Jesus. We believe CORE will strengthen your understanding of Scripture, help you grow deeper in your walk with Jesus, and provide practical tools for a lifelong pursuit of following Jesus and making Him known to others.
Sexuality, Gender and the Bible:
A Guide for Navigating Today’s Questions
Conversations about sexuality and gender can feel overwhelming, but Scripture speaks with real clarity about God's design and invites us to think wisely in a confusing cultural moment.
This core class will explore what the Bible actually teaches—holding firm conviction while seeking to follow Jesus' example of truth and love. We'll look honestly at the questions people are asking today and discover why God's vision leads to human flourishing. As we do, we'll aim to keep grace and charity at the center, remembering that everyone we encounter—including those who disagree with us—is made in God's image and deeply loved by Him.
If you want a thoughtful, grounded approach to these issues that strives for both clarity and compassion, this core class is for you.
Mondays: January 12, 19, 26 | 6:30p-8:00p
God is on a Mission:
A Practical Look at Missions
Which of these statements is most intriguing to you –"The Church of God has a mission in the world” or “The God of mission has a church in the world?”
What if missions is not a special project for a few “super Christians,” but the heartbeat of what God is doing in the world—and an invitation for every follower of Jesus?
In this CORE class, we will explore how God’s global purposes run from Genesis to Revelation, and how ordinary people in ordinary churches get to be part of that story right where they live and to the ends of the earth.
Whether you’re already passionate about missions, curious and unsure, or honestly a bit intimidated by the whole idea, this class is for you. Together we’ll look at Scripture, real-life stories, and practical next steps to help you move from viewing missions as an overwhelming duty to seeing it as a joyful, lifegiving privilege—right in the middle of your everyday life.
Wednesdays: January 14, 21, 28 | 6:30p-8p
