This Is Good News

Life often feels complicated and broken. We see it in the world around us and we can feel it in our own lives. Pain, brokenness, injustice, and death remind us that things aren't the way they should be.

But the story
doesn't end there.

There is Good News, this is the message of Easter.
This is for everyone.
This is for you.

Part 1

The Problem

Our World Is Broken

Humanity has a problem. We experience pain, sorrow, conflict, regret, suffering and death. People are searching for identity and purpose but ultimately come up short. The world is broken because of sin. Sin is more than just making mistakes. It's when we choose our own way instead of God's way. It separates us from the God who created us and loves us.

of sin. Sin is more than just making mistakes. It's when we choose our own way instead of God's way. It separates us from the God who created us and loves us.

We Need A Savior

"For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God" - Romans 3:23

If we want to know the good news we need to recognize the bad news. Sin has distorted and stained all of creation, including us, humanity. Because God is perfectly holy, our sin creates a separation between us and Him. No amount of good deeds, effort, or personal

improvement can repair that gap on our own. Sin leaves us in a far worse place than just being a bad person, sin leaves us spiritually dead. We can't repair our relationship with a holy God on our own.

But there is one who can.

Part 2

The Rescue

God Stepped In

Because God loves each of us so deeply, he didn't leave us in our brokenness. He provided the solution to our biggest problem and made a way to restore our broken relationship. To rescue us, God sent his only son Jesus into our broken world in human flesh.

Jesus lived the life that we could not, perfect and sinless. Yet while he didn't deserve it, He willingly died on a cross. He closed the unreachable gap between us and God, satisfying the judgement and wrath that we deserved because of our sinfulness. He paid the ultimate cost that we could not, and He paid it in full.

Jesus Died In Our Place

But The Story Doesn't End There

Death could not stop Jesus. On the third day, Jesus rose from the grave. Not only is He alive, but He defeated sin and death once and for all. Through His death and resurrection, the separation that sin

caused between us and God can be healed. Jesus did for us what we could never do on our own. That is why the name of Jesus is the only name that can truly save.

"For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life."

John 3:16

The Gift

A New Life Is Offered

There is never anything that we can ever do or offer that will bring you back into a right relationship with God. This relationship is not something that we can earn, it is by grace that you can say yes to Jesus and surrender your life to His plans and purpose for your life. God is offering you the gift of eternal life made possible through His son Jesus Christ. God deeply desires to be in a relationship with you. If you by faith, put your trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, then you are saved from sin and made right before God. You are made new, you now stand righteous with God and your relationship is repaired. This is called Salvation. We don't deserve it and there is nothing that we can do to earn it. The invitation is extended to you and you can receive it. He is the only way, the truth and life.

Your Response

Following Jesus begins with faith. Being saved is not a magic formula, it starts with a simple humble confession. You can respond to the invitation that's extended to you

through a simple prayer to God, who created you, loves you and made a way to repair our relationship with Him and come back to Him.

"If you declare with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

- Romans 10:9

Heavenly Father,

Thank you for sending your perfect Son Jesus. Because you have expressed your love and kindness, I can now know You, thank you for this gift of grace. Even though I had turned my back on you and had no interest, I know that I can now turn around and run safely into your arms.

I admit that I have looked for answers and fulfilment in the wrong places. I know that I need your love and forgiveness. I turn away from my wrong doing and turn to You.

I believe that You came to die on the cross for the payment of sins and I believe that you rose from the grave defeating sin and death. There are many things that I don't know or understand, but I believe in You and I put my trust in You. Thank You that you know my deepest need and that you forgive my sins.

I receive Your love, grace and the gift of eternal life today. I put my old life behind me and choose to trust and follow You alone as my personal Lord and Savior.

In Jesus' name,

Amen.

If you just prayed these words, you just made the most important decision of your life!

Heaven Is
Rejoicing
